Adventures in Korea: [Vlog] 가로수길 Garosu-gil Shopping & Cafes!

Explore 가로수길 (Garosu-gil)–an area in Seoul’s Gangnam district–from hip clothing stores to cafes and more. I absolutely love Garosu-gil for its high concentration of great shopping spots and 맛집 (mat-jip: restaurants known for delicious food), but with a bit of a smaller and less crowded atmosphere compared to Myeongdong or Gangnam Station.

Garosu-gil is also a great place for people-watching. We saw a couple models plus their entourage all dressed up doing photoshoots on the street. Can you say #ootd inspo?

We even saw a big commotion outside of the Swatch store here–paparazzi everywhere! Apparently there was some event going on and celebrities were arriving in their fancy cars. I unfortunately couldn’t figure out who the celebrities were…the combo of paparazzi and growing crowds of onlookers made it difficult to figure out 😦 But it was definitely fun to just be among the curious crowd!

Adventures in Korea: [Vlog] Shopping in Myeongdong! (StyleNanda Pink Hotel, Innisfree Cafe & more)

Myeongdong is HEAVEN if you’re a shopaholic. (Although if you’re not a fan of crowds, you might be better off staying home and shopping online)

There are stores for what seems like every popular brand–Korean and international–that you can think of. This shopping area is especially great for non-Korean speakers because most stores are staffed with associates who are multilingual (from English to Chinese to Japanese and more)

Adventures in Korea: [Vlog] PC Cafe, Insadong, Hanbok Rental, & How to ride the SeoulMetro Subway

I love making memories, and I also love being able to relive those great memories and sharing them with others. Naturally, I vlogged throughout my entire trip to Korea. This is the first in a series of travel vlogs I’ll be rolling out.

So what are the first things I did when I arrived in Korea? Eat Korean BBQ and play games at a PC Cafe–and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In this vlog I visit a PC방 (PC Cafe) in Gangnam, show you how to purchase a SeoulMetro T-Money card, and travel to Insadong where I wore a hanbok to Gyeongbokgung Palace!

Adventures in Korea: 이니스프리 그린 카페 Innisfree Green Cafe – 명동 Myeongdong

One of the first things you’ll notice when you come to Korea is that they are incredibly serious about their coffee. The cafe culture is so real. There are cafes around every corner competing to be the most trendy and Instagram-worthy cafe.

Naturally, I ate my way around Seoul to find the best one 🙂 And sure enough, I found my favorite cafe on one of my first days there…

The Thing About New Year’s Resolutions

So it’s a reality that when December ends and January 1st rolls around, it’s really just another day in your life. You get the people who take this globally recognized holiday as a milestone, a sort of communal boost of motivation to start a new chapter of your life. Then there’s others who simply choose to disregard this concept and just keep chugging on with their lives. Continue reading “The Thing About New Year’s Resolutions”
