When you invest in simple and timeless pieces, that’s when you make the most out of what you got! Especially when you’re in college, you’re busy saving up for, oh I don’t know, the rest of your life? Haha! Avoiding patterns and colors that come and go with the seasons and buying pieces that are minimalistic and wearable over the years is key.
Colors like black and white never goes out of style in my book. Take, for example, this white AA crop top that has been a staple in my closet for years. Simple cuts and textures of clothing are also a great value buy. I chose to pair my white crop top with this muted blue pleated maxi skirt–an elegant yet timeless piece! This one I got from Michael Kors on sale at a still fairly expensive price, but I know it’s a piece that I’ll be able to wear for a long time, especially with the quality of how it’s made.
So really, price and value are all relative. If you’re on a money-saving budget, try and do a mental checklist every time to ensure a piece’s longevity and versatility in your closet. Trust me, you’ll be getting a lot more wear out of pieces that fit this description versus that colorful polka-dotted sweater you’re thinking about buying!
