Apologies for the slight hiatus lately! I’ve been adventuring around San Diego, Palm Springs, and LA with my fam and Michelle. Before I left, I got the chance to meet with Bay Area photographer Kai Sotto. She was so much fun to shoot with! A genuine creative soul. Here is the first of three sets of looks which we pushed out in just a couple of hours. I’m already looking forward to the next time we can collab again in the Bay!

I was really inspired by this snazzy pair of nude mules which I dug up from the deep, dark depths of my mom’s old shoe closet. I’ve seen mules popping up everywhere lately in people’s lookbooks. The sandy nude color particularly made me want to go for a light, summer-y look–almost beach-y but still city girl-appropriate.

For me, this meant shades of white and warm tones. I went with this luxuriously silky striped crop tank by Topshop. The muted blue stripes gave just the right pop of color, especially for someone like me who tends to gravitate away from the usual bright summer colors. My closet is slowly being taken over by monochromatic colors!

Kai and I trekked around downtown San Jose until our feet were aching. Hey, beauty is pain right? Haha! This was the best way we could achieve a variety of different feels and backgrounds for our three looks. Stay tuned for our next lookbooks in my upcoming posts!
