For people on the shorter end of the height spectrum like me, finding the perfect fit for a maxi dress can be a daunting task. That’s why I’ve come up with a few quick fixes so you can make any maxi work! (No sewing required!)photo-3 photo-4 photo-5 photo-6 photo-7 photo-8

Cardigan: Dantelle Apparel / Maxi dress: Clothing Swap / Lace-up heels: BCBGeneration

I absolutely love this floral maxi dress with its airy material and dainty, vintage texture. However, its length and waist area doesn’t quite fit to my proportions. By lacing up into a sky-high pair of heels, we can fix the height issue right away. Now, in terms of hiding the uneven bubbling of material in the upper torso/halter area of the dress, I shrugged on this uber comfy black cardigan by Dantelle Apparel. I still wanted to expose the halter, so I kept the cardi a little bit off the shoulder to maintain that sultry appeal. The contrast of the black cardigan also breaks up all the light color schemes of the outfit and brings the focus to the grand view of the entire outfit, rather than the small slightly ill-fitting details!

  1. I purchased one of this companies dropped waist T-shirts and it completely ruined my car seats a leather handbag my lab coat and some furniture at work not to mention my expensive bras and turned my skin blue that I could not remove for days! I followed the washing instructions carefully prior to wearing and it still got Dye over everything. Permanent dye.
