As of late, I’ve been gravitating towards the sports luxe trend. Why? Because it’s comfortable! And so, this was the concept that inspired this studio shoot which Michelle (MSL Photography) and I did in collaboration with photographer Randy Chung and HMUA Bek Harvey.
It never ceases to amuse me when I wear a sporty outfit out and my roommate asks me, “Are you going to the gym?”
To which my reply is:
What’s great about the sports luxe look is that it can simultaneously be casual and slouchy yet sexy and stylish. For this first outfit, I went for exactly that. I actually borrowed this bodycon dress from Michelle (thanks girl!) and threw on this mesh jersey and my favorite ‘Feline’ beanie. For shoes, I wore my pointed booties from Zara. Surprisingly super comfy for a heeled boot!

LOOK TWO.
I’ve always been a pretty active, sporty person throughout my life–from soccer to dance to cross country. Prior to the phase in my life when I only wore boots, I collected sneakers on sneakers. Combined with the inner illipino in me, it just feels right to be buying sneakers again. I’ve been in love with Adidas Originals for the longest time, so y’already know that when my next paycheck came in I picked up a pair for myself. I wanted these babies to be the star of this outfit so when I saw this dress at the thrift store I just knew i had to pair it with them!
LOOK THREE.
This last outfit felt super fierce and is one of my personal favorites–mainly because this was the first time I got to wear my brand new TopShop x Adidas Originals running shorts! I’m absolutely in love with the entire collection. I wanted these shorts to take the spotlight in this outfit so I kept it to a bare minimum by pairing it with a mesh-lined sports bra. For shoes, I gave myself about six inches of height with my sky-high Jeffrey Campbell Tardys. To keep the outfit grounded, I slipped into these distressed scalloped thigh-high tights.
This was SUCH a fun shoot in the studio with Michelle, Randy, and Bek. I know I usually do street style shoots, but this was an awesome new thing for me and Michelle to try out! You can definitely look forward to more studio shoots mixed into my blog in the future. Stay tuned!!
