Shoutout to the Super Mario Bros. days. Light-wash denim always reminds me of Spring, so why not go all out with it?

This look is what I envision minimalism is using denim as a medium. To give way to some depth, I played with varying textures and shades of denim such as this more grunge-y acid-wash chambray shirt and this pair of solid light-wash jeans that I DIY distressed. I stuck to a lighter scheme of denim washes because light-wash denim just screams spring to me. It has been seriously so beautiful here in Seattle for the past couple of days, ergo my stylistic ode to spring weather. It’s a hilarious phenomenon as a transplanted Californian in Seattle who now deeply cherishes every ounce of warm sunlight that the Pacific Northwest can squeeze out.

Okay, but also on a more serious note: Whenever I wear denim on denim it never ceases to remind me of that one couples’ outfit that Britney Spear and JT wore to the 2001 AMA’s.

Oh, early 2000’s fashion!
