Need to get on a health kick before Spring Break? WayGood Tea was kind enough to let me try some of their detox teas (not to mention give me a promo code to share with you lovelies!) ❤
If you don’t already know, I am an AVID tea drinker. Going to be completely honest here–I will always choose tea over coffee. Sorry, Seattle! I just really love me some tea! I was given these tea samples to try out from a new detox tea company called WayGood Tea. This was perfect timing since I’m currently on a major health kick to prep for Spring Break plans. What I like about WayGood is that their focus is on purely organic ingredients that have natural cleansing properties. Compared to other detox teas out there on the market, their teas are much more simple and natural which is honestly the best for your body. Their website even breaks down the health benefits of each ingredient for you. Pretty awesome stuff. Check out what I thought about all four flavors from the WayGood collection below!
Lavender Earl Grey
Now, I’m not a huge fan of floral teas. I’ve always been drawn towards more grain-based or black teas. This is mainly because all of the floral teas that I’ve tried in the past have basically tasted like I was drinking perfume or liquid potpourri. Lavender is notoriously known throughout the foodie world for being an ingredient that, when overdone, can especially taste like you just had a potpourri smoothie. However, I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried the Lavender Earl Grey Cleanse! I love a nice, hearty Earl Grey, and this tea had just the perfect undertone of a soothing lavender taste. I added a bit of honey to sweeten it up for my super sweet tooth, and voila! A delicious, non-potpourri-y Lavender Earl Grey tea!
Lemon Jasmine
This tea is by far one of my absolute favorites in the WayGood tea collection. This sachet is much lighter tasting with a delicate Jasmine taste topped off with an ever so slight hint of lemon-y goodness! There’s also a tinge of rose petals in this tea, as well. Oh, and the best part? No sugar additives needed whatsoever. When I drink this, I feel so refreshed and mellow inside. This is the type of tea that makes me feel like I should be at some fancy afternoon tea cafe eating little crustless sandwiches and making small talk!
Ginger Rooibos
I know what you’re thinking. What in the world is Rooibos?? For those of you that aren’t aware (as was I until I googled it just now), rooibos is a plant of the legume family (think beans) whose leaves were popularized for use in tea by South Africa. Exotic, right? This stuff has some powerful antioxidants that are 100% natural and help your body fight off free radicals. Ginger is also another superfood which, unfortunately, has a taste which many seem to stray away from, especially when it comes to ginger-infused drinks. I, for one, am not a huge fan of ginger, so you can imagine my hesitance with trying this tea. However, once again, WayGood has proved me wrong with another awesome cleansing tea! The ginger is not overpowering at all. It healthily balances with the hearty, nuttiness of the rooibos. This is definitely the kind of tea I imagine drinking on one of those days when I’m stuck sick in bed.
Chamomile Mint
This tea has a very soothing quality to it. I drank this one before bed one night because chamomile is commonly known for having natural sleep benefits. The peppermint definitely caught me off guard at first because it has such a prominent tone. Luckily, the mint in this tea is not at all too overpowering and does add an extra nod-to-Christmas coziness. It was uber relaxing to slip into my PJ’s, do some writing, and sip on this tea. I don’t know about you guys, but the peppermint left a minty fresh feeling in my mouth which is reminiscent of a minty toothpaste aftertaste before bed. It’s safe to say that Chamomile Mint is a cleansing tea combo which gets me in the mood to lie down and have a goooood night’s sleep!
Whew! Now that you’ve made it through this entire review, do you know what time it is?? And no, it’s not summertime (Unfortunately. Sorry HSM fans!). It’s promo code time! If you’d like to give WayGood Tea a try for yourself, use this 15% off Promo Code: ‘UWSPRING15’. Special thanks again to the WayGood team for sending me these samples to try out! ❤
Happy tea drinking my fellow peeps! 🙂
